Steffen Kern
We are pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Steffen Kern, presenting a new body of work developed specifically for this occasion.
Kern’s practice is grounded in close observation of everyday environments and the subtle structures that shape them. Working across painting and drawing, he translates fragments of the visible world into carefully constructed compositions that hold both clarity and ambiguity. His works often suggest familiar references like architectural details, surfaces, objects, or spatial moments, without fully resolving into a single narrative.
For this exhibition, Kern presents a selection of recent works that continue this approach, focusing on perception, attention, and the ways meaning can shift through framing and reduction. The works are precise yet open, inviting viewers to look closely and reconsider what is immediately recognizable.
Rather than relying on spectacle or abstraction, the exhibition builds on restraint and observation, offering a quiet but focused encounter with the material world as it is seen, remembered, and reinterpreted.
