The yearly art fair Big Art is coming up and Rutger Brandt Gallery is delighted to announce that we are participating with an amazing artwork by Zsofia Schweger.
Big Art is a platform for XL artworks and design objects, which takes place at the iconic Hembrugterrein in Zaandam. During the fair, dozens of unique and monumental paintings, drawings, photos, installations and design objects are on show (and for sale).
For this year's edition, Rutger Brandt Gallery is presenting the work Commute by Zsofia Schweger. In this painting, Schweger depicts the London Underground in a minimalistic yet colorful manner. The Underground is empty, though there are signs of life, like an umbrella, newspapers and a coffee cup. Together with the soft pastel colors Schweger applies, these objects create a feeling of familiarity and comfort - maybe even a sense of being home. This is precisely what the artist wants to depict, as she is interested in exploring the relationships between humans and spaces.
