UNTITLED, ART is an international, curated art fair founded in 2012 that focuses on curatorial balance and integrity across all disciplines of contemporary art. Untitled, Art innovates the standard fair model by selecting a curatorial team to identify, and curate a selection of galleries, artist-run exhibition spaces, and non-profit institutions and organizations, in dialogue with an architecturally designed venue. The next edition of Untitled, Art Miami Beach will take place on the beach at Ocean Drive and 12th Street, December 4 — 8, 2019.

 

The large paintings by Inez de Brauw (1987) are made out of panels that can be shifted in different order. This migration of shapes becomes a metaphor for a feeling of being without lineage, without roots, adrift between historical reference, kitsch and irony.

A paper mode forms the basis of Johan de Wit’s (1960) most recent series of objects. Shape and color are the starting points for his works and evoke all kinds of associations, such as childhood memories, but also those of vanity and melancholy. In evoking an atmosphere of poetic stillness, the artist combines his love for aesthetic objects with everyday life.

 

The main subjects of the painting of Carlos Sagrera (1987) are interiors; different spaces of a home in which time seems to have stood still. The spaces evoke associations with the past and as a spectator you wonder if the interiors really existed, or if they are merely created by the artist. The hyperrealistic details in Sagrera’s work are on an exceptionally high artistic level, but true excitement unfolds when common and recognizable motifs are translated into abstract streaks of color.

 

In his works Theun Govers (1976) renders unsettling shapes and planes that convey curious dimensions in unknown yet palpable locations. Angles which seemingly fit together eventually part ways to form interiors that beg to have their spaces investigated and explored.
