Interview Dirk Hardy in Gallery Viewer

Gallery Viewer published an interview with Dirk Hardy about his newest solo exhibition at Rutger Brandt Gallery. Written by Wouter van den Eikel.

In the article, Hardy discusses his working procedure, the time-consuming process in which his works are created:

"That camera doesn't go anywhere for three, four months. Then I photograph the objects separately and the people separately, in different positions to feel the freedom in the computer to still tweak things.[...] My goal is to get the photography out. Not to show the photographic with blurred background or a certain shutter speed. I make a hyper-realistic scan of a world I have built."- Dirk Hardy

Later in the article Hardy descibes how he defines his own artistic practice:

"I consider myself primarily a visual artist who uses the medium of photography to create a hyper-realistic representation. Within that, the photograph is only a part, as the glass participates in the narrative, and so do the frames." - Dirk Hardy
