Radenko Milak at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb

A new exhibition by Radenko Milak has opened at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb (MSU)! Having already intrigued the international museum and gallery scene with his fascinating black and white watercolours the past few years, Milak has created new work for his exhibition ‘Disaster of the Unseen or How Europe Fails’.

The exhibition primarily deals with the political and social history of ‘European failures’ during the 19th, 20th and the beginning of the 21st century. By recreating images of large world disasters, wars, global crises and key social events, Milak invites the viewer to re-evaluate these images, thereby actualizing existing paradigms and ethical criteria from the past.

Milak has outdone himself by creating new watercolours, drawings, large composite murals and scenes, as well as several animated films which he created by painting individual frames taken from already existing film documents and live-action films. These will be shown for the first time at ‘Disaster of the Unseen’. In other words, this is a spectacular new exhibition which is worth a visit.

‘Disaster of the Unseen or How Europe Fails’  will be on view until the 29th of November 2020 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb.
