Moritz Moll
Moritz Moll (*1991) completed his painting studies in 2021 as a master student of Prof. Anke Doberauer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich (AdBK).
In his paintings, Moritz Moll explores the in-between spaces of everyday life, intimate moments of being unobserved, of drifting off, of concentration. Through sophisticated colour compositions
and fine lines, he transforms the trivial into immediate everyday fetishes that are completely infused with the polarity of tangible and intangible space, two- and three-dimensionality.
By using oil, acrylic and spray colours on canvas, Moll creates an individual painterly system in which surface and line interlock to form constant compositions that counter the fleeting nature of what is depicted.
The basis for the source material is a collection of clothing and props, some of which have great emotional value, which Moll uses to portray the subjects - often people close to him.
